THE ALTAR GUILD
The Altar Guild prepares the table for the Eucharist and other services at the church, ensuring that
services are conducted in decency, order and beauty for the worship of Almighty God. Altar guild
members also care for all of the utensils and linens, including clean-up, laundry and repair.

ACOLYTES
Acolytes help set the tone of the
service by bringing reverence and
beauty to the Eucharist. They tend the
candles, enhance the procession by
carrying crosses flags and banners,
they serve at the altar and assist in the
Eucharist Service.
All church people from 9 years old
through adult may serve as acolytes,
with training held on a periodic basis.
Please contact Ed O'Rourke if you are
interested in serving in this ministry.
USHERS
Ushers are scheduled in pairs to greet people at the church door, distribute the Sunday bulletin,
take up the collection and coordinate the movement of communicants to and from the altar rail.
LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Lay Eucharistic Ministers participate in the liturgy by reading scripture, leading the congregation
in the prayers of the people and assisting the priest during the Eucharist. Lay Eucharistic Ministers
wear liturgical vestments and take part in every service at All Saints.
READERS
Readers are lay persons that, after a period of study, read the Old Testament lesson and the Epistle.
