All Saints' History

All Saints' Episcopal Church is a parish of 485
members representing 210 households.  Warner
Robins began as the village of Wellston.  During
World War II, Robins Air Force Base was
developed in the rural flatland and the city grew up
around the base.
The Few Episcopalians in the
area joined the communicants transferred to the
area by the base. In the late 1940's, twenty
members began meeting in the First Presbyterian
Church on Sunday evenings for Holy Communion
led by the priest from nearby Fort Valley.
In 1949, the Bishop of Atlanta made his first visit to the people at this mission station in Warner
Robins.  During his visit, these people convinced the Bishop that they could support a mission in a
town of five thousand people.  Property had been given by Thomas Walker, an $100 had been
raised to build a church.  All Saints' mission came into existence with a church built at a cost of
$7000 by the members themselves.  The Diocese loaned the mission to build a Parish Hall, which
was completed in 1955 and expanded in 1960.  In 1956, the first vicar of All Saints' was appointed
by the Bishop, until that time the priest had been shared with Saint Andrew's, Fort Valley.

All Saints' became a parish in 1965 under the leadership of the Reverend Hal Daniell.  The
Reverend Russell Daniel became rector in 1965 and for the next nine years until his retirement,
the parish grew under his leadership and a Rectory was purchased in 1966.

In 1976, the Reverend Chester Grey III was called to become rector.  Under his seven year
leadership, the parish had its most significant period of growth in both communicants and
activities.  In 1977, the rectory was sold with the proceeds starting a building fund.  The Education
Building was completely renovated and enlarged in 1979 at a cost of approximately $133,000 and
is debt free.  In 1982, the church building was completely renovated at a cost of $120,000 and is
completely debt free.  All Saints' was consecrated on November 1, 1982, with the Right Reverend
Charles Judson Child, Bishop Suffragan of Atlanta, presiding.

In 1984, a beautiful Zimmer pipe organ was added in the church to
assist in the music ministry.  Funds for the purchase and
installation of the organ were raised through generous donations
of parishioners and friends without adding any debt to the parish.
In 1985, the Reverend J. Dennis Smart was called to become
rector.  Again, the parish continued to grow and a Parish Hall with
kitchen, a large meeting room, an Episcopal Church Women
(ECW) workroom and a Choir room were added to the facilities.
All the facilities serve well in meeting the Parish needs and all are
debt free.

During the period of 1991 - 2004, several new programs, including
Daughters of the King, Education for Ministry and Disciples were
started.  Most significant to the spiritual life of the parish was the
calling and ordination of two men to the priesthood, the Reverend
Todd Dill and the Reverend Jeffrey Neuberger.

Today, All Saints' continues to grow and serve the spiritual needs of the community.  The Food
Pantry, established in 1992, serves over thirteen hundred families each year.  A close supportive
relationship with Westside Elementary has been developed.  The school's student population is
mostly low-income children and All Saints' supports these children by providing school supplies,
clothing, Christmas gifts and Easter baskets
